Doug joins us on today’s show, to discuss Troop 89 a Boy Scouts of America troop the he established in 1977.Scouting has been a part of his life for as long as he can remember and he has remained active into adulthood with Troop 89.
Troop 89 was formed as a troop for Scouts who have disAbilities. The troop is extremely active and participates in Council activities, Camp Potomac and Troop 89’s own special trips. Activities are geared to the ability levels of each scout to afford each one a successful experience. In order to participate in Troop 89, a boy must be a minimum of 13 years of age. Troop 89 has no upper age limit.
The Leaders of Troop 89 are always looking for people to join in a leadership roles, this will help ensure Troop 89 will be here for scouts well into the future. You do not have to have any previous experience with Scouting, training is available and easy to do.
Check out Troop 89’s Website for more information on how you can become involved.
